Automotive Accelerated Credit Enrollment to Industry
Training “ACE-IT for short”, is a specialty program offered here at ACSS that
allows students to work towards the first year of their automotive apprentice
while still enrolled in high school. This program is open to all students
across Langley school district and is often referred to as a “dual credit
program” because students earn 5 courses of high school credit while completing
their first year of Automotive Service Technician or “AST” training. This is a
very challenging program and is not right for everyone, but for those students
who have discovered their passion for automotive and wish to pursue it as a
career (or related career), it might be just perfect.
Students interested in taking this course should let their councilors know as soon as possible as it entails pre-requisites and a fair bit of work to enroll. Most students in this program come from other schools in Langley and require changing schools at some point as ACSS is the only school offering this program. Students from linear schools must be well aware of this as switching from a linear school calendar to a semester one is more challenging.
